Portola City Services
The City of Portola provides water and sewer service to residents in the City. Utility bills are sent out on the 1st of each month and balances not paid by the 20th are subject to a 10% late fee. After the 30th day the City may discontinue the service. All utility services are in the property owners name, and the responsibility of the property owner. A property owner may fill out a tenant authorization form which will allow City staff to mail the tenant a copy of the bill and receive payment from the tenant. A tenant has no authority to initiate or stop utility services, only the property owner may do so. Property owners should contact city hall if this wish to initiate service, terminate service, and add or remove a tenant from the account. All properties are subject to the monthly availability charge regardless if the water is on or off at the property. When starting new service a property owner must complete the New Service Request form and bring it to City Hall. A Credit Check may be performed or a deposit may be required prior to services being turned on.
